X-RAY EMISSION FROM THE MONOCEROS HOT SPOT

ABSTRACT

The protostar R1 in the R crA dark cloud exhibited a surprising feature: X-ray flares of about 10 keV temperature associated with two emission lines of 6.2 and 6.9 keV. This requires relativistic speed of jet, if this is due to Doppler split. Thus R1 would be particularly dynamical epoch of the protostar phase. In fact, hard X-ray flux from R1 dramatically decreased at the second observation. Also Infrared observations found disappearance of R1. This forces us to observed another example of protostars in the " R1 phase ". With ROSAT and infrared observations, we found good example, which is the hot spot at the Monoceros star forming region.
