OBSERVATION OF 1H1752+081: AN "INTERMEDIATE" SYSTEM BETWEEN POLAR AND INTERMEDIATE POLAR

ABSTRACT

Polar and Intermediate Polar have been recognized as the subclasses of Magnetic Cataclysmic Variables. They are, however, considerably different on various aspects, such as mechanical properties and emission spectral shape etc., and there is a discussion that these two subclasses have completely different origin. From optical observations, it is suggested 1H1752+081 is truely an "intermediate" system between Polar and Intermediate Polar. We propose 80ksec observation of 1H1752+081 (1) to measure the rotational period of the white dwarf, (2) to detect the soft blackbody component, and (3) to measure the mass of the white dwarf.
