THE ACTIVE RS CVN SYSTEM UX ARI: AN ASCA/EUVE CAMPAIGN

ABSTRACT

UX Ari is one of the most active RS CVn systems known. It has shown enormous X-ray and EUVE flares in the past, but up to now there has not been a simultaneous EUVE/ASCA observation of these events. We propose here to make such an observation. The unique combination of capabilities of ASCA and EUVE will provide new insight into the time variability of the differential emission measure and the change in apparent stellar abundance with coronal activity.
