THE PROPERTIES OF LOW LUMINOSITY GALAXY CLUSTERS

ABSTRACT

We propose ASCA observations of a small x-ray selected, statistical sample of low luminosity galaxy clusters to obtain temperatures and bolometric luminosities. This will enable us to constrain the luminosity-temperature relation for poor clusters and add a point to temperature function of galaxy clusters. Temperature measurements are also a necessary step in determining the masses of the clusters.
