OBSERVATION OF THE NEW GALACTIC JET SOURCE CI CAM (
ABSTRACT
We propose to observe the newly discovered Galactic Jet Source CI Cam in its steady state, a possible second example of SS~433. ASCA observation of CI Cam in outburst suggests an interesting possibility that the X-ray emission originated from the twin jets. Our aim is to detect the steady X-ray emission from this symbiotic system, which is expected to be highly absorbed. This will enable us to conclude whether or not the X-ray emission observed during the outburst was truely associated with the jets. Also, the spectrum will lead to the unique identification of the compact object in this peculiar system.
