THE SYSTEMATIC STUDY OF THE POPULATION OF X-RAY SOURCES IN THE MAGELLANIC CLOUDS


ABSTRACT

Large and Small Magelanic Clouds have extremely ideal characters for the systematic study from the X-ray scope. The aims and expected fruit of this survey are 1: Derive the survey of the SNRs which are not observed deeply yet with ASCA, get the more completely sample for the study of SNR evolution. 2: Find the non-thermal X-ray emission SNRs, which will be the proof that these SNRs deals with the cosmic ray accerelation. 3: Find out the new X-ray pulsar, to know the reason for the difference of the population of X-ray sources among SMC, LMC and our galaxy. 4: Study the X-ray spectrum and the spatial structure of the star forming region in both galaxies. 5: Get the complete X-ray images(2-10keV band), which greately help us for the comparison with other wavelength.
