Subject: CLUSTERS OF GALAXIES AND SUPERCLUSTERS

AN X-RAY OBSERVATION OF A GALAXY GROUP RX J1751.2+6532: A SYSTEM WHICH EXPERIENCED RECENT MERGER ?

ABSTRACT

RX J 1751.2+6532 is $B#a (Bgalaxy group to which an extended hot gas associated with 320 kpc size. This group is characterized by double-peak structure of X-ray surface brightness distribution. Both peaks do not reside at center given by outer low-level contours of X-ray surface brightness. One peak roughly corresponds to galaxy subgroup in which the central dominant galaxy NGC 6505, but its position significantly deviates that galaxy. The other one has no optical counter part. These all are consistent with an idea that RX J 1751.2+6532 has experienced recent merger and it has not yet relaxed. To seek evidence and information of merger of such small-scale galaxy aggregates, which in turn forms greater aggregates like a rich cluster,we propose $B#a (B100 ksec ASCA SIS observation.
