Time Variability in star-burst galaxies

ABSTRACT

The ASCA observations of starburst galaxies show their spectra comprise a low temperature thermal plasma component produced by the successive supernova and a hard component. The spectrum of the hard component is fitted with a thermal bremss. or a power law, but its origin is still mystery. We found time variability from the hard component in the most famous starburst galaxy M82. This result indicates the existence of the massive BH. Thus, we set up a hypothesis that the origin of the hard component of the other starburst galaxies is massive BHs, too. Therefore, we try to detect time variabilities from selected brightstarburst galaxies in order to inspect the hypothesis.
