ASCA Remote Proposal Submission
RPS is used to generate the proposals for submission to the mission-specific NRAs released by NASA's Office of Space Science. The missions supported by RPS currently include ASCA, Compton Gamma-Ray Observatory, ROSAT and XTE (X-ray Timing Explorer).
The automated e-mail server may be accessed by sending a blank mail message to the following address: rps@legacy.gsfc.nasa.gov. The user will receive instructions on the options available (a few) and how to obtain blank forms. The server/processor occasionally is slow as a result of heavy Internet traffic; otherwise, the processing time is at most a few seconds.
The Mosaic form provides a WWW interface to the RPS processor. Please read the one-page of instructions that are included with the RPS form. RPS is a stateless server, so the user is completely responsible for saving intermediate files. Save early (as .html files (.html = suffix)), and save often.
If you do not read the instructions, you have only yourself to blame when you lose a file.
The WWW RPS form may be accessed through the following URL:
