Program Description

The INTMAP program runs in 2 major sequences which are the input phase and the map generation phase. The input part is performed with XView which allows for full screen input, default values, selection from scrollable lists and option to quit at any time. The XView window also tend to minimize the amount of typing and are fairly self-explanatory.

The core of the program will read the user input from the namelist file, read the input counts file and save important information about it. Then the timeline file is read and the exposure history file that matches the data time range is found. The exposure history file is read for similar instrument modes, the SENSTV routines are called and the exposure bins are accumulated for all the modes. The intensity map is then calculated from the exposure and the event maps. The output files are written to disk, the program report is listed on the terminal and the program terminates. INTMAP is a very computer intensive program due to the sensitivity calculations and the need to correct for the earth shadow every x seconds during an entire vewing period.
