Current
A total of 11 files representing 11 pointings at Cyg X-1 carried out during the AO phase of the mission. Each file consists of a 10 2-dimensional (63x63) Point Spread Function images, one at each of 10 energy ranges.
The file naming convention used is:
psf_sm2_
_
.fits
THETA

versions).
These files were converted to OGIP format by Keith Arnaud
(NASA/GSFC ASCA GOF) from an original file
(allpsf.sm2.fits
) provided by Maxim Markevitch (ISAS).
As stated above, the datasets were generated from observations
of Cyg X-1 using the GIS instruments.
The background was subtracted, the
images were then normalized to have 1 photon within the 6 arcmin off-peak
radius, and then smoothed before binning with
the energy-dependent, position-independent Gaussian
to compensate for the GIS energy-dependent detector resolution.
