SUMMARY

This document provides a list and very brief summary of all calibration documents provided on-line within the OGIP calibration database, and of documents currently in preparation.
This document: /docs/aaa_caldocs_summary.tex

1  Location/Organization of the Docs directory tree

The documentation listed in Section 2 is available on-line within the .caldb/doc directory tree in the format(s) described below1. An alternate source of this information is via BROWSING the docs database available via the XOBSERVER (HEASARC) account2).
Hardcopy versions of all documents are also available on request from I.M.George & R.S. Zellar at the above address, or via e-mail at LHEAVX::GEORGE (george@lheavx.gsfc.nasa.gov) & LHEAVX::ZELLAR (zellar@lheavx.gsfc.nasa.gov) on SPAN (bitnet).

1.1  Location

The primary OGIP caldb is physically located on the (ultrix) Legacy machine within the LHEA at NASA/GSFC: within the /FTP/.caldb directory tree. Most of the documentation described below is available within the docs directory. The entire caldb directory tree is available to remote users via anonymous ftp.
An identical copy of the caldb is also available on the (VMS) LHEA vax cluster at NASA/GSFC: within the CALDB: directory tree. Thus the documentation listed below is also availble via SPAN/DECNET copy from the CALDB:[docs...] sub-directory tree.

1.2  The Docs Directory Tree

All documentation is stored under the .caldb/doc directory tree as follows: In most cases both the ascii LATEXsource code (i.e. the text of the document with embedded word-processing commands) and ascii postscript files (word-processed text, tables, figures etc. ready to print3) are available.
It should be noted that many of the documents are written in LATEX and make use of the automatic figure etc. numbering capability. As a result users who have copied the LATEXsource (only) to their home machine may have to run LATEXtwice in order to create the necessary *.aux, *.toc etc files.
Furthermore, several of the larger documents are written in sections (and the sections themselves updated pseudo-independently). Users wishing to copy the LATEXsource of a large document to their home machine should obviously keep this in mind. In all cases such large documents have their own sub-directory in which an ascii README file provides a full summary of the required files.
A numerically ordered list of OGIP Calibration Memos is provided in Table 1.
