XISSIM: Installing xissim

The distribution package has the following directory structure.

xissim-2005-12-20
  |-- README
  |-- linux                     binaries for linux
  |-- darwin                  binaries for Mac OSX
  |-- osf                        binaries for OSF
  |-- refdata                  calibration files and FTOOLS parameter file
  |-- sample                  FTOOLS parameter file (xissim.par) and sample script for the Crab simulation

The linux, darwin and osf directories include aemkreg, mkphlist and xissim for each platform. In this explanation, we assume that we work on the linux machine in a working directory under xissim-2005-12-24.

Before you run xissim, move mkphlist.par and xissim.par into the FTOOLS parameter file directory (Generally, /pfile in your home directory) and set up the HEAsoft environment.
