Scaled Map Transient Analysis for Crab

Crab RA= 83.6360 degs ; Dec= 22.0145 degs

Please note that the Crab light curve shown here contains several systematic effects which have not yet been corrected.
Part of the downward trend in rate is due to a time-dependent shift in the gain of the BAT instrument which moves counts
out of the monitor energy band. The large downward excursions, particularly those around the end of 2009 are an artifact
of the presence in the same field of 1A 0535+262, which underwent a giant outburst at that time. The low points at the
start of the light curve are as yet unexplained.

We are currently studying these effects and determining the best way to make corrections to the light curve. In the meantime,
please use these results as a guide, but treat them with caution.
