FTOOLS Software Style

There is a general programming style to the FTOOLS that has evolved in an effort to increase the portability and overall user familiarity with the FTOOLS. The last two sections of this document discussing FTOOLS software style and are titled Dos and Don'ts of FTOOLS Development and Binding C and FORTRAN Source Code. These two sections are extremely important to the successful design of an FTOOL task and the reader may find it very helpful to glance over these sections before proceeding with the specifics of FTOOLS development.
