2nd Circular of "New Century of X-ray Astronomy"

==========================================================================
		Second Circular of the Symposium
		"New Century of X-ray Astronomy"
			March 6-8, 2001
			Yokohama, Japan
- -----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is the second announcement of the X-ray symposium entitled "New
Century of X-ray Astronomy", March 6-8, 2001, at Yokohama,
Japan. Following two subjects will be the major goals of the
symposium. First one is the summary of the current knowledge, which is
based on theoretical works, previous observations in X-rays and other
wave bands, especially observations with the new X-ray missions. Some
of previous problems could be answered but more questions are emerging
from new results. The second theme is the science to be explored by
future programmes in the new century and then the technological
breakthrough necessary for such approaches. Tentative programmes and
the list of invited speakers may give you an idea of this
symposium. In this symposium, as the first X-ray symposium of the 21st
century, we would like to map out our course of science and technology
of X-ray astronomy in the new century.

I. Programmes
1. Tentative programme
(1) General description and current status of two new missions.
(2) Discoveries and future problems (4 sessions)
Plasma diagnostics of stellar coronae and SNR
	Our Galaxy and galaxies
Accretion and outflow in compact objects
Evolution of galaxy cluster and distant universe
4-8 contribution papers and 2 invited talks in each session
Invited speakers will summarize problems after contribution papers
	on individual topics
(3) Science and technology of future programmes (4 short sessions)
Science to be explored by future missions
	Instrumentation of future programmes
3-4 contribution papers without invited talks in each session for
future programmes
* General summaries will be given at the end of (2) and (3).

(4) Future key observations to solve the problems

3. Contribution papers
Poster papers and limited number of oral papers are solicited. In the
second session, 15 minutes are assigned to contribution papers. In the
third session for the future programmes, all presentations are
contribution papers for 20 minutes each. Again, the time for
