1) Revised Version of QuickSim including update to March99 PN areas

Previously the effective areas for the PN in QuickSim were those of
the Feb98 calibration data. The areas are now updated to March99
with the new data file at:
ftp://legacy.gsfc.nasa.gov/xmm/software/quicksim/area.fits.gz
This affects only the PN results, not the MOS. Count rates with the
new areas are typically 10-20% higher.

There also have been a few bug fixes. The changes are listed below
in an extract from the README file which accompanies the QuickSim
distribution.

The QuickSim manual has been updated to reflect these changes.

 5 April 1999
New effective area data for the PN. Now uses March99 ARF data
(dead time corrections are included within QuickSim)

 2 April 1999
    Update of quicksim.ps documentation
    New Software - SimExtend V0.1
        - SimExtend creates input images which can be used as
QuickSim image input, the data are then correctly
          vignetted
        - this beta software so caveat emptor
        - the input to SimExtend is the same as for the similar
          parts of SimSource
Update of software - QuickSim V1.0.4
        - correction of a bug which reversed the RA values
        - assignment of random positions in a pixel to events
          produced from image input
Update of software - ProcSim V1.5.2
        - correction of an initialization error which caused the
first ODF file to be missed under Linux
        - correction of a bug which reversed the RA values

30 March 1999
Update of software - QuickSim V1.0.3b
        - correction of an error in the input of user-supplied
          background spectra
