XMM-Newton AO-13 OTAC Results
=============================

The list of XMM-Newton proposals accepted by the AO-13 Observing Time
Allocation Committee (OTAC) and the associated proposal abstracts are
available at

http://xmm.esac.esa.int/external/xmm_news/otac_results/ao13_results/

The Principal Investigators of submitted proposals have been informed
by e-mail about the results of the OTAC evaluation. The message
contains the details about the second phase proposal submission for
successful observations, which must be done via the XMM-Newton Remote
Proposal Submission System (XRPS). The XRPS will be closed on the 31st
of January 2014 at 13:00 UT.

AO-13 observations will start to be routinely performed in May 2014.

Version 8.1 of the XMM-Newton Science Archive released
======================================================

A new version of the XMM-Newton Science Archive (XSA v8.1) has been
released, including some improvements and a few bug fixes.

Access to the web interface and to the documentation is available at
the XSA web page:

http://xmm.esac.esa.int/xsa/

Scientists are reminded that the previous XSA v7.2 java interface and
associated AIO client, providing access only to old versions of
pipeline products and 2XMM catalogue, will be discontinued in about
2-3 months. People that have not migrated yet to using XSA 8 and the
new AIO client are therefore encouraged to do it soon.

Version 3.0 of the Upper Limit Server tool released
===================================================

Version 3.0 of the upper limit server (ULS) has been released. This
release is compatible with version 8.1 of the XSA and accesses
XMM-Newton public pointed and slew data. For slew data, it will serve
upper limits from all currently processed slews, including more recent
ones which were previously unavailable. Several enhancements,
including support for target names and for sexagesimal coordinate
format in source lists, have been added.

The ULS tool, as well as its User Guide, are available at:

http://xmm.esac.esa.int/external/xmm_products/slew_survey/upper_limit/uls.shtml

Yours sincerely,

XMM-Newton SOC
