http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/xte/whatsnew/rxte_celebrate.html

This is the first announcement for a two day celebration of the
recently-concluded Rossi X-ray Timing Explorer (RXTE) mission and its
scientific discoveries and legacy. We plan two days of events on March
29 & 30, 2012 at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center, Greenbelt, MD.

Please visit the above webpage for further details regarding the
events, including registration, local accommodations, poster abstracts,
and badging access for GSFC.

A symposium entitled, "16 Years of Discovery with RXTE," will be held
beginning at 9:30 am on Thursday, March 29, and concluding by noon on
Friday, March 30. The symposium will be comprised of short (~15 min)
talks covering the full breadth of the RXTE mission and its scientific
achievements and legacy. Poster contributions will also be accepted.
Coffee service and light afternoon snacks will be provided.

A reception and dinner will be held on Thursday evening, 5:30 - 9:00
pm at the GSFC Rec Center. Beer, wine, dinner, dessert, reunion and
celebration - all are invited! Ticket and cost information will be
made available on the webpage in coming weeks.

Events will conclude with the GSFC Scientific Colloquium: "RXTE;
Taking the Pulse of the Universe," on Friday March 30th, 3:30 - 4:30
pm. The colloquium will be given by Tod Strohmayer and Jean Swank.

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide funds to support travel to and
accommodations at the meeting. Nevertheless, we hope to see many of
you in March! Please pass on this invitation to potentially interested
colleagues that we may have missed.

Regards,

Tod Strohmayer (for the RXTE team)
