ASCA Weekly

Dear ASCA users:

We have replaced the degraded S1 Gyro with a spare S2 Gyro on Nov. 29.
The on-board software for attitude control was switched for the combination
of X-, Y-, and S2-gyros and the attitude was successfully locked to a sky
appointed by the tracking stars. Tuning of on-board parameters for attitude
control and test maneuvers have been in progressing. A few targets in the
direction suitable for the test maneuver will be observed after December 1. I
expect that we are able to restart regular observations from December 3 or 4
along the announced schedule. The long-term timeline will be revised when
we are convinced of stable maneuver operation.

In the following I have attached the observation plan for the week of
December 10 - 17.

Regards,
F. Nagase
