ASCA obslog
Dear ASCA users,
Paul Hilton has summarized ASCA observations and achieved exposure
times for GIS and SIS sensors for the period of October 7, 1995 to
January 22, 1996 (see Table 2 attached below). Based on this calculation,
I justify following supplemental observations (TABLE 1) to be added
in nearest opportunity for each.

(note 1) completion criteria and rule for adding supplement
a. 95 % of approved time for priority-A targets.
b. 75 % of approved time for priority-B targets.
c. No supplement for inefficient small amount of exposure
less than 5 ksec.
d. In case of multipointing the conpletion criterion is calculated
in principal for the sum of a target in a proposal.
(this was applied for Mkn 1210 (N1+N2) and GRB940217
(N1+N2+N3), this time.)
e. In pricipal no additional observation is planned for coordinated
time constrainted observations, even if ASCA exposure is
unfortunately incompleted. If however, the PI is able to
set up the proposed coordination again, ASCA supplemental
observation will be planned. (Gamma Cas by R. Corbet is the
case this time and he should verify the coordination if
he want the supplemental 5 ksec observation).
I appologize, especially to M. Tavani and Y. Tanaka, the delay of this
announcement, even though Paul has completed this calculation two months
ago. Hereafter, Paul and I will try to calculate and release this kind of
observation log in every 3-4 month interval.
