HEASARC News: Swift/Suzaku Peer Review request

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Swift and SUZAKU Peer Review Request
-----------------------------------------------------------------------
On behalf of NASA Headquarters, we are attempting to identify
potential reviewers for the Swift Cycle 5 and Suzaku Cycle 4
Proposal Reviews. A review by competent peers benefits the entire
science community by ensuring that the observations carried out
and the science return for Swift and Suzaku are of the highest quality.
We'd like to appeal to you to support this system and contribute to
the common good by serving as a Peer Reviewer. If you'd be willing to
help out, please contact us.

[1] The Swift Cycle 5 review will be held in Long Beach, California, from
January 8-11, following the AAS Winter meeting. As in previous reviews,
each reviewer will be assigned ~30-35 proposals, with each reviewer being
primary or secondary reviewer on a subset of the proposals.

More information about the Swift Cycle 5 GI program can be found at:

http://heasarc.gsfc.nasa.gov/docs/swift/proposals/

If you have any questions about the Swift peer review, please contact:

Dr. Stefan Immler
Swift Guest Investigator Program
Code 661
Goddard Space Flight Center
National Aeronautics and Space Administration
Greenbelt, MD 20771-0001

Telephone: (301) 286-0072
E-mail: use the feedback form at http://swift.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/Feedback
and make sure to choose "Swift" for the mailing list.

[2] The Suzaku Cycle 4 (US) review will be held in the Greenbelt, MD, area
on February 18-20 (the proposal pressure will determine if the third day
is needed). We expect each reviewer will evaluate 30-40 proposals,
with each reviewer being primary or secondary reviewer on about 6 proposals
each. Under a bilateral agreement with ISAS/JAXA, NASA is responsible
for allocating observing time to US-based astronomers only. Therefore,
only US-based astronomers will serve on the US peer-review for Suzaku.

More information about the Suzaku Cycle 4 GO program can be found at:

If you have any questions about the Suzaku peer review, please contact:

Dr. Koji Mukai
Suzaku Guest Observer Facility
Code 662
Goddard Space Flight Center
National Aeronautics and Space Administration
Greenbelt, MD 20771-0001

Telephone: (301) 286-9447
E-mail: use the feedback form at http://suzaku.gsfc.nasa.gov/cgi-bin/Feedback
and make sure to choose "Suzaku" for the mailing list.

If you are interested in/willing to participate in one or both of
the above reviews, please reply to:

peer_review@bigbang.gsfc.nasa.gov

as soon as possible (but no later than Oct 15), and give

- your full name and title,
- your institutional affiliation
- your scientific strengths and interests (brief).
- your preference for which review.

Because of possible institutional and/or scientific conflicts, our choice
of reviewers will be constrained and not all volunteers will necessarily be
selected. All reviewers must have a Ph.D. in astrophysics or a related
field by the review date. We will contact you individually, shortly after
the proposal deadline, when we will know how many reviewers with what
expertise we actually need.
