IPCOSTARS - Einstein Count Rates for IPC O Stars

Overview

This information, derived from the Einstein X-ray Observatory Catalog of O-type Stars, by Chlebowski, Harnden and Sciortino, provides information regarding the Soft X-ray measurements for all normal, massive, O-type stars serveyed with The Einstein Observatory. Parameters

Name
A number assigned to the source for the purpose of this catalog.

RA
The Right Ascension of the object.

Dec
The Declination of the object.

LII
The Galactic longitude of the object.

BII
The Galactic latitude of the object.

Alt_Name
Name derived either from the Henry Draper identification or the Bonner Durchmusterung identification.

Sequence
The Einstein "sequence" number(s) for each target. Multiple observations of a given object are indicated by the apperance of more than one sequence number.

Exposure
The total exposure time (live time) in seconds for each target.

Count_Rate_Flag
This is a flag for the X-ray count rate which is set to 0 if it is a detection, or 1 if it is an upper limit for a non-detection.

Count_Rate
The corrected count rate (per 10e3x), and for objects which failed the detection criteria, an upper bound is given, as indicated by a flag notation of `1`. The data is given in counts per second, which is instrument dependent. The data offered here is not suggested for direct comparison between instruments. Additional information is available from the HEASARC.

Count_Rate_Error
The corrected count rate 1-sigma error.

Instrument
The instrument used to observe the target. An `I` indicates IPC data, an `H` indicates HRI data.

Composite_Corr_Factor
The composite correction factor used in converting from counts to incident flux.

Target_Category
This indicates whether the star was a target of a serendipitous observation, according to the following notation: `T` indicates the source was observed as target during all observations; an `S` means at least once the source was neither a target nor a member of a targeted assosciation, cluster, or nebula; and an `X` marks all other cases (mostly members of targeted associations).

Background_Method
The method used to determine the background in the vicinity of each source.
