It is known that low luminosity Seyfert 1's tend to show shorter time scale variability than higher luminosity ones, then we can expect the short time scale variability in low luminosity Seyfert2's if Seyfert 1's and Seyfert 2's are essentially the same object as predicted by the unifies scheme. A variability study is a powerful tool to probe a central engine along with strong Fe-K line and gives a crucial information to understand the nature of low luminosity AGNs.
