NON-THERMAL X-RAY FROM IC443'S SHOCK FRONT

ABSTRACT

>From PV and AO1 observation data, we found hard X-ray spot and bar-like structure at the south-east rim of the SNR. Subtracting the surrounding thermal plasma component, we found that the residual can be represented by a power-law without line emission. From the region, shock-induced HCO+ line was detected; therefore the hard residual may be the synchrotron emission from shock accelerated electrons. The purpose of the observation is to make clear whether the emission is surery non-thermal, and to test the shock acceleration theory comparing with the gamma-ray flux already taken by EGRET.
