NON-THERMAL X-RAY FROM EGRET SNRS

ABSTRACT

The origin of the cosmic-ray is the enigma since its discovery. SNRs are the most strong candidate, but the observed upper energy of non-thermal particle had been only 10^10 eV, which is much smaller than the cosmic-ray up to 10^15 eV is the Galactic origin. Now, ASCA has made clear that SN 1006 has strong non-thermal emission from ~10^14 eV electrons and the similar emission should be found in other SNRs. We propose the observation of X-ray synchrotron emission from SNRs which contain EGRET point sources to confirm ~10^14 eV electron and make clear the nature of the shock acceleration in SNR.
