DEEP POTENTIAL POOR GROUPS OF GALAXIES

ABSTRACT

In our ASCA study of the poor NGC 3258 group, we derived an IGM temperature of 1.7 keV and a baryonic fraction of only 0.065 (with a Hubble constant of 50 km/s/Mpc). Here we propose to investigate the best three deep potential group candidates for checking the universality of the NGC 3258 group results. The findings will show whether or not deep potential groups possibly can alleviate the ``baryon catastrophe''. Furthermore, we will also get hints of any differences between these X-ray selected groups and optically selected groups.
