GAMMA-RAY BURST ;GRB 970616

ABSTRACT

Soon after the discovery of a fading X-ray source with Beppo-SAX, an optical transient coincided with the GRB 970228 in position and in time was reported. However the divergence of the observed results of other GRBs (GRB 970111, 970402 and 970616) cannot afford us to a firm conclusion in origin of them. For example of GRB 970616, there was no any fading X-ray counterpart confirmed and no any optical transient were announced. These were fully inconsistent with the Beppo-SAX case of GRB 970228 and GRB 970508. We propose to observe GRB 970616, which was once observed resulting 4 X-ray sources, again to confirm the X-ray counterpart.
