DOES CLUSTER OF GALAXIES EVOLVE AROUND Z

ABSTRACT

Very distant clusters AXJ2019+1127 and MS1054-0321, at the redshift larger than 0.6 observed by ASCA and ROSAT show remarkable different characteristics from nearby clusters. The two clusters contain only 1/5 - 1/2 of ICM of nearby clusters with same plasma temperature. X-ray spectrum of AXJ2019+1127 exhibits strong iron line whose abundance reaches 1.7 cosmic values although MS1054-0321 indicate only upper limit. On the other hand, clusters at 0.10.6. However, only two clusters at z>0.6 have been observed with ASCA. Therefore, we propose observation of a distant cluster in order to investigate possible cluster evolution at z>0.6.
