ASCA AO7 STUDIES OF OLD LMC SUPERNOVA REMNANTS

ABSTRACT

We continue our study of the supernova remnants in the Large Magellanic Cloud with the goal of studying their dynamcal states and mean metallicities. New ASCA observations of five remnants with radii from 16 pc to 28 pc are proposed. These remnants are among the largest/oldest in the sample and as such will provide a test of the effects of differing evolutionary states on the derivation of abundances from SNR X-ray spectroscopy.
