XSELECT

Although the FTOOLS tasks will enable a user to manipulate the SF and HKF files in a variety of ways, they will not be particularly easy to use, requiring detailed knowledge of the way that the data are arranged in the files. Consequently, a higher-level, command-driven program called XSELECT will be provided which will use the same library subroutine tasks as FTOOLS but will be easier to use. XSELECT will use the XANADU user interface, the IRAF and the SAO Host interface. It will have the generic commands:

Note that only the SF is specified in XSELECT since the read command automatically gets the associated HKF and uses it to find the names of housekeeping parameters for filtering.
