Hardware Requirements

The ADDMAP program runs in a windowing environment on Sun4 and Sun SPARCstations. The input phase requires the windowing environment to display the XView windows, however that portion of the program may be bypassed by reading the namelist file directly, in which case any terminal would do.

The program size (when running on the sage machines) is about 13 megabytes although only a fraction of that needs to be resident at any time. However, there may be some memory problems if another large program is running simultaneously and the program should be 'niced' to avoid taking up too many resources away from users. The program will normally require a few minutes to run but this can increase considerably depending on input parameters.
