pte is a shell script that is used to run the PointExpose program.
It is invoked as
pte name
where name is used to identify the various output files. If the file
pte.nml.name does not exist, pte runs sensin [section 3] to create it. sensin takes
input such as the pointing and times, and stores it in the pte.nml.name
file [section 4].
Then pointexp [section 5] itself is invoked. It takes five minutes
computation time per mode to execute, and it creates a file
pte.out.name [section 6], which contains the livetimes and sensitive areas.
pte sends
the stdout output of pointexp to the file pte.tmp.name . This is usually
uninteresting, mostly consisting of lines copied from the exposure history
file.
