This document is intended to provide a notes on the origin, format, limitations etc of all ASCA calibration datasets within the OGIP calibration database (caldb). By its nature, it is therefore very much a 'live' document and is expected to expand rapidly throughout the PVC and early AO phases of the mission.
In the rest of this chapter, the location and structure of the OGIP caldb at NASA/GSFC is briefly described, along with references to other relevant documentation. All ASCA XRT, GIS & SIS datasets within the caldb at NASA/GSFC are then summarized in Chapters 2, 3 & 4 respectfully, with non-instrument specific datasets summarized in Chapter 5
