Remarks: Simultaneous observations will be performed with the fast optical photometer SiFAP2 mounted at the 3.6-meter INAF Telescopio Nazionale Galileo from 2023-12-23T00:30 to 2023-12-23T03:00 (UTC).
ToO: Y
Coordinate Observation: Y
Observatory: INAF-GALILEO TELESCOPE/SIFAP2
Description: The magnetar SGR 0501+4516 will be observed with the fast optical photometer TNG/SiFAP2 from 2023-12-23T00:30 to 2023-12-23T03:00 (UTC). We aim at searching for fast optical bursts and X-ray simultaneous observations are of paramount importance to assess their astrophysical origin. SiFAP2 indeed observed an excess of fast optical bursts in the direction of the magnetar SGR 1935+2154.
Uninterrupted: Y
Justification: Given the simultaneous observations in the optical band, an uninterrupted observation during the coordinated time would be of paramount importance to detect the event in different bands.
Estimated Count Rate (cts s-1): 2.000
