ABSTRACT

The following cookbook is for the use of software developed for the analysis of ROSAT PSPC observations of extended sources and the diffuse background. It includes routines to exposure and vignetting correct an image as well as model and subtract to the greatest extent possible the non-cosmic background components. In addition, a limited set of HRI specific programs have been added to the collection.
