ROSAT Guest Observer Facility

Is the large variation in the H-V plots real?

(6/30/92)

Apparently not. The plot of "H-V" is really a plot of the H-V MONITOR, which varies considerably, while the H-V appears to be steady. The H-V is interpolated between calibration sources (maintenance days, etc.) across an observation interval. It is not clear how often the calibration sources are observed. Regardless, the 5 percent jitter in the H-V plot can be ignored.
