NAME

xtefilt -- assemble an RXTE filter file from observation inputs

USAGE

         xtefilt -a "appidfile" *REQUIRED*
                 -o "obsid" *REQUIRED*
-p "pathname to FITS database" *REQUIRED*
                 -t "timestep (secs)" *REQUIRED*

                 -b "breakfile"
                 -c (clobber)
                 -g "maximum gapsize (secs)"
                 -h (print help)
                 -i (interactive)
                 -f "output filename"
-s (put output file into stdprod directory)

DESCRIPTION

xtefilt is a script which assembles the scientifically important parameters from the Spacecraft and Orbit FITS data files for a given observation, derives some additional quantities and creates an XTE filter file.

PARAMETERS (SWITCHES/FLAGS)

-a [appidfile]
the name of the file containing the AppIds to be collected *PROMPTED FOR IF NOT SUPPLIED ON COMMAND LINE*

-b [breakfile]
the name of the PCA breakdown file (also can be "NONE" or "CALDB") (default: NONE)

-c
overwrite existing file with same name? (default: NO)

-f [filename]
output filename (.xfl will be appended) (default: FPxx_aaaaa_bbbbb.xfl)

-g [maxgap]
the maximum gap (in seconds) across which to interpolate (default: 128.0)

-h
print this help page

-i
if set, user is prompted for confirmation before modifying stdprod index file

-o [obsid]
the ObsId to be filtered *PROMPTED FOR IF NOT SUPPLIED ON COMMAND LINE*

-p [path]
full pathname for the top of the XTE FITS database (where FMI file is) *PROMPTED FOR IF NOT SUPPLIED ON COMMAND LINE*

-s
put output file in STDPROD directory and update the Std_Prod_Index_File (default: file stays in current working directory) If enabled, any filename specified with the -f flag will be ignored and an XFD-style name used.

-t [timestep]
delta T for the filter file (in seconds) (default: 16.0) *PROMPTED FOR IF NOT SUPPLIED ON COMMAND LINE*

EXAMPLES

1. xtefilt -o 00010-01-01-00 -p /data/xtegof/FITS/FD -a appidlist -t 1.0
The four required parameters are specified on the command line. If not, they will be prompted for by the script.

2. xtefilt -c -s
Prompt me for the required parameters and accept defaults for the rest, except that I want "clobber" enabled (-c) and I want the filter file placed into the standard products directory of the appropriate XTE database (-s).

NOTES

The current version of XTEDERIVE (called by XTEFILT) computes the following quantities:

          'X_RA','X_DEC','Y_RA','Y_DEC','Z_RA','Z_DEC','POINT_RA','POINT_DEC',
          'POINT_L','POINT_B','ROLLBIAS','VEL_RA','VEL_DEC','SUN_RA','SUN_DEC',
          'MOON_RA','MOON_DEC','SUN_ANGLE','MOON_ANGLE','RAM_ANGLE','ELV',
          'MCILWAIN_L','OFFSET','BKGD_THETA','BKGD_PHI','PCU0_ON','PCU1_ON',
          'PCU2_ON','PCU3_ON','PCU4_ON','NUM_PCU_ON','TIME_SINCE_SAA','ELECTRON0',
          'ELECTRON1','ELECTRON2','ELECTRON3','ELECTRON4','L6CNTPCU0'

This version of XTEFILT requires FCOLLECT v4.2.1 or higher to run properly.
