# TESS Program G08096 Title: Measuring Masses And Radii Of Low-Metallicity Eclipsing Binaries In The Southern Sky PI: Rowan, Dominick - Ohio State University Type: SMALL Summary: We propose to combine TESS photometry and ground-based spectroscopy to measure masses and radii of 60 low-metallicity eclipsing binaries (EBs). Detached EBs are the most effective tool to measure precise masses and radii of stars. These measurements are widely used to calibrate stellar models, characterize exoplanet host stars, and understand stellar populations in galaxies. However, current catalogs have a critical gap in the sample of metal-poor EBs. We have identified 72 metal-poor ([Fe/H] < -1.0) EB candidates in the Southern sky. We propose to use TESS light curves and ground-based radial velocities from CHIRON to dynamically measure the masses and radii of 60 systems.
