The OTAC encourages all proposers to be as concise as possible in their proposals. Use of graphical material (figures, diagrams, examples of data, etc.) is encouraged whenever it helps the OTAC to draw conclusions on the scientific merit of the proposal. The scientific justification must be prepared as a single pdf file. The size of the (uncompressed) pdf file should not exceed 10 M byte. In total four pages are allowed for the scientific justification of standard programs, including all accompanying material, like the graphical material, a section on the feasibility of the proposed observations (Section 5.8), tables, references, previous work and publications. In total five pages are allowed for the scientific justification of ``Large Programs'' and ``Very Large Programs'' (Section 5.2.2 and 5.2.3), including all accompanying material. The minimum allowed font size is 11 pt. Non-compliance with these instructions will lead to the outright rejection of the proposal. The usage of the provided Latex template to write the scientific justification is strongly recommended. The Latex template is provided at:

The RPS on-line help gives further details on how to send the
scientific justification (pdf file) during proposal submission.
