radmonfix (radmonfix-0.5.2) [xmmsas_20190531_1155-18.0.0]
The radiation monitor file contains count rates in different energy ranges of
incident electrons and protons. These are measured by a Low energy detector
and a High energy detector. The columns, contained in the RMECX1 extension,
are denoted by NLE for
count rates from the Low energy detector and NHE from the High energy
detector.
- NLEO: The count rate accumulated over all 256 channels in the
low energy detector, which measures: Electrons: from 130 Kev to 1.5 MeV
and Protons: from 1 MeV to 4.5 MeV
- NLE1: The count rate accumulated from channel 4 to channel 65
in the low energy detector, which measures: Electrons: from 160 Kev to 1 MeV
and Protons: from 1 MeV to 1.5 MeV
- NLE2: The count rate accumulated for channels from 66 to 255 inclusive
of the low energy detector, which measures: Electrons: from 1 Mev to 1.5 MeV
and Protons: from 1.5 MeV to 4.5 MeV
- NHEO: The count rate accumulated over all 256 channels in the
high energy detector, which measures: Electrons: from 1 Mev to 1.75 MeV
and Protons: from 8 MeV to 40 MeV
- NHE1: The count rate accumulated from channel 5 to channel 25
in the high energy detector, which measures: Electrons: from 1 Mev to 1.3 MeV
and Protons: from 8.7 MeV to 9 MeV
- NHE2: The count rate accumulated for channels from 26 to 255 inclusive
of the high energy detector, which measures: Electrons: from 1.3 Mev to 1.75 MeV
and Protons: from 9 MeV to 37 MeV
- NHEC: represents the full counts of the spectrum "coincidence" accumulated on all 256 channels
of the high energy detector, which measures: Electrons: from 0.5 Mev to 2.5 MeV
and Protons: from 12.5 MeV to 100 MeV
Optionally, the spectral parameters may be written into the RMESX1 extension.
Spectra are produced either every 512 seconds (SLOW mode) or every 4 seconds (FAST mode).
These are stored as COUNTS in the columns: SPLE (low energy detector spectrum),
SPHES (high energy detector spectrum) and SPHEC (high energy detector coincidence
spectrum).
