The radiation monitor file contains count rates in different energy ranges of incident electrons and protons. These are measured by a Low energy detector and a High energy detector. The columns, contained in the RMECX1 extension, are denoted by NLE for count rates from the Low energy detector and NHE from the High energy detector.

Optionally, the spectral parameters may be written into the RMESX1 extension. Spectra are produced either every 512 seconds (SLOW mode) or every 4 seconds (FAST mode). These are stored as COUNTS in the columns: SPLE (low energy detector spectrum), SPHES (high energy detector spectrum) and SPHEC (high energy detector coincidence spectrum).
