4, 3, main engine start, 2, 1, and liftoff of the Delta rocket with the XTE
spacecraft looking into the invisible spectrum of our Universe. All 6 solids are
burning, roll program is in, pitch program is in, we have a good clear, clean
liftoff. Solid looks good.

Solids burning nicely. Looking very good, looking smooth, we're coming into the Mach
1 timeframe, here, and it looks good going through Mach 1. Solids burning well. Both
verniers, main engine looks good. Going through max Q, max Q looks good, nice and
clean. Attitude disturbance is very light. Solids beginning to tail off, and we've
had all six solids have burned out. Ignited the other three and we have jettisoned
three.

[Announcer:] Altitude now 10.1 nautical miles.

All solids off. The second step looks good, attitude disturbances at solid jettison
were light.

[Announcer:] Altitude now 13.4 nautical miles.

Three solids look very good. Main engine and verniers also look very good. Solids
continue to look normal. And we're beginning the slow tail off of the three solids.
And they have now burned out.

[Announcer:] Altitude now 32.2 nautical miles.

Solid motor jettison, all three of them off.

[Announcer:] And a cheer from the team here at the mission director's center. All the
solids are off and the [garbled] vehicle...

Launch tanks have been pressurized. This is normal. Main engine vernier looks good.
Both verniers and main engine burning very nicely.

[Announcer:] Main engine cutoff will occur at T+4:21. We're now at T+2:48....
3 minutes into the mission. Main engine cutoff is about another minute or so.

[Announcer:] Still getting good data from the Tel 4 telemetry station operated by the
Air Force at  Kennedy Space Center with good data coming into the central telemetry
facility here at the NASA mission director's center.... 4 minutes 10 seconds standing
by for the main engine cutoff.
