Subscribing and unsubscribing to ascanews: how to do it yourself

This message is about subscribing and unsubscribing to the ascanews
emailing list. If you've got this message, then you're already on
the list.

ascanews is actually an email exploder which uses the Listserv
software. Listserv enables subscribers to remove themselves from
the mailing list and new people to add themselves.

To remove yourself, send a message to:

   listserv@athena.gsfc.nasa.gov

from the SAME email address at which you receive ascanews messages.
The message should contain the single line:

   unsubscribe ascanews

If you would like to put yourself back on the list (perhaps at a
different email address) or a colleague of yours would like to
subscribe, then send a message to:

   listserv@athena.gsfc.nasa.gov

from the email address at which you would like to receive ascanews
messages. The message should contain the single line:

   subscribe ascanews yourname

where "yourname" is your real name, not your userid, e.g. Samuel
Smith.

If you have any questions about ascanews or any other ASCA issue,
please send an email to:

   ascanra@athena.gsfc.nasa.gov
