ASCA Weekly
Dear ASCA users:
I am sending an ASCA observation schedule for the period of September 22
to October 4. Although the schedule between September 22 and 24 were
announced in the previous weekly schedule, it was revised to adjust
observation period of EC1931-5915 (PI: Schlegel) so as to get better
eclipse data. In corporation to this, the observations of Sgr B region was
divided into two segments.
In this week we have installed a 100-ksec Crab Nebula observation for the
instrument calibration. Main purpose is to get best-statistics spectra of Crab
up to 10 keV for both GIS and SIS so as to do fine tuning of response matrix.
Miss-operation was happened at KSC on September 5, during up-loading
the OP command plan. This caused loss of about 30 ksec exposure for X1636-536
(PI: Y. Tanaka) among the 40-ksec allocated time.
