Suzaku News #087: Suzaku mission declared complete

JAXA has announced that it is abandoning its heroic effort to recover
Suzaku from the malfunction it experienced in early June, and declaring
the mission complete. A brief press release can be found at:

With nearly 10 years of operations (compared with a nominal 2-year
lifetime), Suzaku was the longest-lived Japanese X-ray observatory. With
its broad observing band (0.2 - 600 keV) and its unsurpassed sensitivity
for low surface brightness, Suzaku provided revolutionary measurements
including the first quintessential measurements of supermassive black
hole spin and the temperature and density profiles of clusters of
galaxies out to and beyond their virial radius.
