RXTE proposals due Fri 30th July

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
RXTE Cycle 5 proposals due Friday!
-----------------------------------------------------------------------

This is a friendly reminder that the RXTE proposal deadline is coming
up fast ... Friday, 30th July 1999.

Remember:

* The PCA count rates quoted on the Target Forms should be for 3 PCUs,
Please check to see that your exposure times and technical feasibility
are formulated with an expectation of using an average of three PCUs.
(W3PIMMS now includes 3 PCU totals, and Webspec has a 3 PCU option.)

* Cycle 5 proposers are specifically encouraged to consider projects
that would benefit from large amounts of observing time. "Large"
proposals (>500 ksec) are allowed 6 pages for their scientific
justification and technical feasibility.

* On March 22, 1999, the PCU gains were reduced again -- we're now in
PCA Calibration Epoch 4. W3PIMMS and Webspec both use the Epoch 4
matrices.

The first two items are covered in an Amendment to AN 99-OSS-02,
released by NASA HQ on May 28, 1999. For further details on any of
the items above, see:
