ROSAT Guest Observer Facility

How can I check the data quality?

(2/24/94)

Data quality can be checked by looking at the orbital housekeeping data provided. Currently, these can be read with FTOOLS and IDL routines. PROS also has a task (hkfilter) that allows the user to filter his/her data on a housekeeping parameter. See the PROS help pages. In addition, the housekeeping files can be read using the STSDAS FITSIO task strfits (since the housekeeping files are table files). Be sure to set the parameter xdimtogf to no, otherwise the software will abort. Once the task has completed, you should have an IRAF image file (containing NO pixels, just history information) and table files (usually, one for each observation interval).
