How does one mosaic several images?

Use STSDAS.TOOLS.iminsert. Create an empty image of the desired size (by using NOAO.ARTDATA.mkpattern). Use iminsert repetitively until all the subimages have been copied into the initially-empty frame. You will need to specify the correct offsets (in pixels) to place the sub-frames in the proper locations.
