FERMILGRB - Fermi LAT Second Gamma-Ray Burst Catalog

Overview

The LAT routinely observes high-energy emission from gamma-ray bursts (GRBs). Here we present the second catalog of LAT-detected GRBs. Initially, the second catalog covered the only the first 10 years of operations, from 2008 August 4 to 2018 August 4. The table given here has been supplemented to add later GRBs that were analyzed using the same procedure as the original catalog. It will be updated periodically with new GRBs.

Provenance

This database table was last updated by the HEASARC in April 2022 using electronic data obtained from the Fermi Science Support Center (FSSC).

Parameters

Name
The designation of the burst. The naming scheme used is GRByymmddfff, where yymmdd is the 2-digit year, month, and day of the burst and fff the fraction of the day.

Gcn_Name
The designation of the burst in the Gamma-ray Coordinates Network (GCN) distribution list.

Time
The date/time of the trigger.

Trigger_MET
The date/time of the trigger in Fermi Mission Elapsed Time (s).

RA
The detected Right Ascension of the burst in the specified equinox.

Dec
The detected Declination of the burst in the specified equinox.

LII
The Galactic Longitude of the burst.

BII
The Galactic Latitude of the burst.

Error_Radius
The localization error from LAT transient factory analysis (deg).

Redshift
The redshift of the GRB, if available.

Luminosity_Distance
The luminosity distance calculated using the redshift of the GRB (when available), (cm).

Theta
The off-axis angle at the time of the trigger (deg).

Zenith
The zenith angle at the time of the trigger (deg).

Arr_Flag
If the GRB triggered an Autonomous Repoint Request, this flag is set to 1, otherwise is set to 0.

Distance_To_Closest
The distance to the closest 3FGL source (deg).

Irfs
The instrument response function used in the analysis.

LLE_Bbbd_Sig
The significance of the signal in the LAT Low Energy (LLE) data using the Bayesian Blocks Burst Detection algorithm (sigma).

LLE_Bbbd_Sig_Detected
Indicates whether the GRB is detected in LLE data.

LLE_T05
The LLE onset time (s). A negative value means that the burst onset occurred before the trigger time.

LLE_T90
The LLE duration time (s) defined as the interval during which the instrument measures from 5% to 95% of the total GRB counts in the 50-300 keV energy range (i.e., from lle_t05 to lle_t95).

LLE_T95
The LLE end time (s).

Tl0
The time when the first photon with probability p > 0.9 to be associated with the GRB is detected in the 100 MeV - 100 GeV energy range (s).

Tl100
The LAT emission estimated duration, defined as tl0 to tl1 (s).

Tl100_Error
The estimated error on the LAT emission duration (s).

Tl1
The time when the last photon with probability p > 0.9 to be associated with the GRB is detected in the 100 MeV - 100 GeV energy range (s).

Tl0_Lower
The estimated lower limit on the LAT emission onset time (s).

Tl1_Upper
The estimated upper limit on LAT emission end (s).

Like_Best_T0
The start of the time window for the likelihood analysis that returned the highest value of Test Statistics (s).

Like_Best_T1
The end of the time window for the likelihood analysis that returned the highest value of Test Statistics (s).

Like_Best_TS
The value of the Test Statistics obtained by likelihood analysis that returned the highest value of Test Statistics.

Like_Best_Flux
The flux obtained by likelihood analysis that returned the highest value of Test Statistics (ph/cm2/s).
