KVTTMCOMIS - Kvant TTM/COMIS X-Ray Source Catalog

HEASARC
Archive

Overview

A catalog of X-ray sources in the 2-30 keV energy band as observed by the TTM/COMIS (Coded Mask Imaging Spectrometer) telescope onboard the Mir-Kvant observatory is presented. Brief information about the 67 sources detected at a confidence level higher than 4 sigma between 1988 and 1998 is provided. X-ray properties and characteristic spectra of different types of sources are briefly described in the reference paper.

Provenance

This table was created by the HEASARC in April 2011 based on the CDS catalog J/PAZh/26/355 file table1.dat.

Parameters

Name
The name of the source. Most of the names are taken from the catalogs compiled by the Uhuru, Ariel-V and HEAO-1 observatories, and from the Einstein Catalog. Several sources were discovered by the TTM itself or by the Granat observatory. Their names in this catalog begin with KS (Kvant Source) or GRS (Granat Source), respectively.

RA
The Right Ascension of the X-ray source in the selected equinox. This was given in J2000.0 coordinates to a precision of 0.1 seconds of time in the original table.

Dec
The Declination of the X-ray source in the selected equinox. This was given in J2000.0 coordinates to a precision of 0.1 arcminutes in the original table.

LII
The Galactic Longitude of the X-ray source.

BII
The Galactic Latitude of the X-ray source.

Date_Peak_Flux
The date when the peak flux value of the X-ray source was measured.

Peak_Flux
The peak flux of the X-ray source in the 2-30 keV energy range recorded by TTM/COMIS, in units of 'milliCrabs'. Note that in this table the Crab Nebula is listed with a peak flux of 1239 mCrab. A typical conversion factor from mCrab to cgs is 1 mCrab = 2-3 x 10-11 erg s-1 cm-2.

Peak_Flux_Error
The 1-sigma uncertainty in the peak flux of the TTM/COMIS X-ray source, in mCrab.

Exposure
The total exposure time, in seconds, when the source was within the TTM field of view.

Number_Tot_Sessions
The total exposure time, in terms of the number of observing sessions or segments, when the source was within the TTM field of view.

Identified_Time
The total time, in seconds, during which the source was detected by the TTM.

Number_Id_Sessions
The total time, in terms of the number of observing sessions or segments, when the source was detected by the TTM.

Flux_High_Time
The total time, in seconds, when the flux of the source was higher than 100 mCrab in the 2-30 keV energy band.

Number_High_Sessions
The total time, in terms of the number of observing sessions or segments, when the flux of the source was higher than 100 mCrab in the 2-30 keV energy band. In such sessions, information about the source spectrum can be obtained for individual sessions.

Ratio_Id_Over_Tot
The ratio of the time during which the source Was visible to the total time it was within the TTM field of view.

Ratio_High_Over_Tot
The ratio of the time during which the source flux was higher than 100 mCrab to the total exposure time.

Number_Hexe_Sessions
The number of observing sessions for each source during which it was identified by the TTM for which the efficiency of the Kvant High-Energy X-Ray Experiment (HEXE, energy range 15-200 keV) was nonzero.

Broad_Type
Comments regarding the presumed nature of the source and its classification. The following abbreviations are used:

      AGN: Active Galactic nucleus
      BHC: Black Hole Candidate
      EXTR: Extragalactic Source
      HMXRB: High-Mass X-Ray Binary
      LMXRB: Low-Mass X-Ray Binary
      SNR: Supernova Remnant
      U-S: Ultra-Soft
      XN: X-Ray Nova

Class
The HEASARC Browse object classification, based on the value of the broad_type parameter.
